Using special equipment at the Observatory, view the closest star to our home planet: the Sun. Warning: Never look at the sun without proper equipment. Included with Nature Center admission.

Bird Walk

Sunriver is home to a variety of birds. Come learn how to be a bird watcher and meet some feathered friends. $2 per person.

Observe a variety of plants, and explore our botanical garden with one of our resident naturalists. Included with Nature Center admission.
Eco-Hike
Saturdays, 9:00am -12:00pm
Join a naturalist for an informative hike at one of several Central Oregon destinations. We’ll explore wildlife, geology, wildflowers, and whatever comes our way. Bring water, a snack, meet at the Nature Center and we’ll carpool to the trailhead. Mininum group: 5 Maximum group: 12 $12 Adults, $8 Children, $10 Members.
Owl Prowl
Fridays, 8:00pm – 9:00pm
Come take a walk with a naturalist at dusk to explore the different nocturnal creatures of Sunriver. Min. group: 5 Max : 25 *Register by 5pm day of walk. Cost: $3 adults $2 children (ages 2-12) Members Free. Preregistration required. Bring binoculars if possible. A nice complement to the Observatory program below.
Tuesdays – Sundays, 9:00pm – 11:00pm
Famous throughout the west. Check out early evening planets and stars before enjoying a multimedia presentation at 9:30pm. Afterwards, return to darker skies and view the universe through the Observatory’s telescopes and binoculars. A magical experience on a clear evening. Much more information can be found here. Cost: $6.00 adults, $4.00 children ages 2-12, Observatory members free. Not to be missed.
